Fan Expo Dallas 2019 (ft. Andrew Moyes)
If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, then look no further than Fan Expo Dallas! Located at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas, Fan Expo is the largest pop culture convention in the state of Texas. Each year, they bring out a wide variety of guests for fans to meet, along with an impressive array of artists, authors, cosplayers, and nerdy vendors to provide a fully immersive experience to make both nerds & the nerd-curious happy!
This year, there are several big attractions that you will not want to miss out on. Cosplay fans & costume enthusiasts alike will enjoy the Masters of Cosplay Grand Prix regional qualifier. On Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. convention attendees will have the opportunity to watch some of the most talented cosplayers in North Texas show off their skills while they compete for a chance to travel to Fan Expo Canada & fight for the title of Master of Cosplay!
For the artistically inclined, artist alley features some amazing comic & anime inspired artwork that comes in so many different forms that first time attendees can easily lose themselves in there for hours! From water colors & digital art to one-of-a-kind holographic prints, there is no end to the type of art you can find. And if that wasn’t enough, some of the biggest names in comic book publishing are located right next to Artist Alley! Legendary creators Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, John Byrn, Mike Zeck, & Donny Cates are just a few of the incredible talent you will find waiting to meet you. If you are more of a movie fan than comic books, Drew Struzan, the man responsible for most of the timeless classic movie posters in modern cinematic history, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Hook, Blade Runner, & Hellboy (to name just a few) is making one of his rare appearances this weekend!
What about for the gaming enthusiasts out there? Downstairs there is a whole section devoted to games, from tabletop tournaments to laser tag. If you don’t see something you want to play, be sure to tell the game organizers. They are always looking to add more options for the next convention & bring the gaming community together!
We would love to keep going on & tell you everything that’s happening this weekend, but this convention is just so packed full of things to see & experience that it is just easier to come & check it out for yourself! Tickets are still available for purchase online & at the door, so come out & see what all the excitement is about!
