Top 8 Things You NEED to Know Before Fan Expo Dallas 2021
Are you planning to attend Fan Expo Dallas next weekend? Maybe you want to go, but you’re just not sure if you should. Well, we’re here to help! On today’s edition of Dallas Geek, we’ll talk about the Top 8 things you NEED to know before you attend this year’s convention.
For long time viewers, you may remember our first series of videos after the channel reboot, Intro to Comic Conventions, where we gave our advice to convention newbies for everything you should know before attending your first convention. Well, it’s been four years since then & we thought 2021 was the perfect time to redo that series in a more condensed way: 1 live show, 30 minutes…no edits!

COVID/Hygiene: Please be smart at the convention & wash daily (yes, we sound like your mom & we’re ok with that)
Cosplay:
Featured Cosplayers: Even if you follow them on Instagram or Tiktok, they are people, too. BE RESPECTFUL!
Attendees: Have fun & don’t forget to tell someone that you like their cosplay!
Celebrity Guests: Remember there are other people waiting in line, too. (Also, don’t take guest cancelations personally…life happens to all of us.)
Artist Alley: GO HERE! This is one of the best parts of the convention. Look at everything, buy what you like, & talk to the artists! They worked hard & love to talk about their art when you like it.
Vendors & Merch: Don’t go on a shopping spree at the start of the day & look around before you make any big purchases (there’s a lot to choose from & it can get expensive quickly).
Panels: Check the schedule to see which panels you want to attend. You can even use them as scheduled breaks from the rest of the convention chaos if you plan it right.
Food: Don’t forget to eat & drink plenty of water! Also, be sure to look for all the food options early. There is more to choose from than hot dogs & nachos…
Transportation: Parking downtown is expensive & difficult to find on the best days. Plan ahead for parking locations, carpool, take the train, Uber…please don’t “wing it”.
