Is Jingle All The Way Terrifying or Harmless Holiday Fun?

Looking back at the 90’s classic, Jingle All The Way, there are two main sentiments that usually come up from modern audiences. For kids from the 90’s & anyone born after 2000, it is usually seen as a goofy Christmas movie with wacky antics & an over the top climax that feels like it was lifted straight out of every kid’s imagination. However, for those of us who lived through the nihilistic height of the Black Friday stampedes, there is more than a little PTSD associated with this movie.

Released in 1996, Jingle All The Way came out the same year as the Nintendo 64 & at the peak of the Beanie Baby & Tickle Me Elmo craze. It gave a comedic spin to the pure, unhinged chaos that was Black Friday in the 90’s, but put the events of the movie right before Christmas as a way to seperate it from the literal stampedes & death that would routinely fill the news cycle from that horrific day after Thanksgiving. So, can this movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & Sinbad still hold up with modern audiences or does it stumble on reality & fall flat? Find out all this & more on today’s edition of Does It Still Hold Up!
