Gathering Courage with T.A. McMullin

For this week's Spotlight Sunday segment, we bring you a new piece of inspirational non-fiction from author Terry McMullin, aka T.A. McMullin! Terry is an award-winning author, a distinguished educator, & inspirational speaker. Her journey from orphan through adoption & then being sent off to foster care by her parents because she struggled with a reading disability inspired her to strive harder than she ever thought possible to find her own success in life. She graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in education & began teaching, where she was able to use her own experiences to help improve the lives of her students for years after. Along the way, she found that her story was meaningful to others who were dealing with their own trials & tribulations. It was from here that she decided to write her own story down & help even more people going through their own hard times. Her book, Gathering Courage: A Life-Changing Journey Through Adoption, Adversity, and A Reading Disability, has already garnered multiple awards, including the 1st place for the 2015 North American Book Award: Biographies, Autobiographies, & Memoirs, the 2016 Readers’ Favorites International Book Award, & the 2017 Directors’ Choice Award from the Human Relations Indie Book Awards.

If you are looking for an inspiring true story to add to your reading list, Terry McMullin’s Gathering Courage is what you’re looking for!
