Sir Pigglesworth by Joann Wagner

After weeks of teasing, we finally get to release the first episode of our new Spotlight Sunday segment where we will feature a new author every week so that the literary fans out there have some new books to add to their reading list! Our first featured author is Joann Wagner, who has written the book series: Sir Pigglesworth Adventures!

Using a fun & creative style of storytelling in the same vein of Marc Brown's Arthur & Mercer Mayer's Little Critters series, Sir Pigglesworth tells the story of a 5 year old royal pig who travels around the world, getting into trouble & learning about the places he visits along the way; all the while, he is chaperoned by Ms. Wagner & her real-life husband, Bill. Of course, Ms. Wagner could just write about any place she wanted for her stories, but to ensure the sense of realism that comes with each of her stories, she makes sure to actually visit & learn about each location. This dedication to the story is felt throughout each book & embeds just enough realism amidst the fantasy to keep children's attention in such a wonderful way.

If you are looking for a great new children's book series to check out, The Sir Pigglesworth Adventures is waiting for you!
