Fairy Tail's Frosch (aka Dawn Bennett) Talks Voice Acting & Anime
While at this year's AnimeFest, we were lucky enough to find out that our guest host, Erica Muse, had a special connection with one of the voice acting guests. Dawn Bennett: known to many as the voice of Frosch in Fairy Tail; to Erica, she is simply an old friend from school. As soon as Erica got to the front of Dawn's autograph line, they both started laughing, greeting each other like no time had passed. Both girls wanted to know what was new with the other & catch up. Unfortunately, the autograph line had to keep moving, so Dawn invited us to her Women of Voice Acting panel on Sunday, where they could have a little more time afterward.
In the few years since she's graduated from college, Dawn has already accrued quite the voice acting resume. With over 50 different credits since 2012 on IMDB, including Fairy Tail, Overlord, RWBY, & Danganronpa 3, she has developed a small, but loyal fan following. During her four-woman panel on Sunday, Dawn was able to give her thoughts on what it's been like being part of the voice acting community, working for Funimation, & what it's really like as a woman working in anime. The back & forth that the panel had with the audience was incredibly candid & everyone seemed very excited to be part of the conversation in the room. It was by far one of the highlights of the convention!
